Professor of Molecular Immunology Riitta Lahesmaa is the Director of Turku Center for Biotechnology (CBT), a joint department of the University of Turku (UT) and Åbo Academy University. Her group of Molecular Immunology has a strong expertise in immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, proteomics and bioinformatics including mathematics, statistics and computational methods. During the past few years their studies have focused on signaling and transcriptional regulation of lymphocyte activation and differentiation. Applying a holistic approach to identify genes involved in this process they have profiled gene expression during T helper cell activation and differentiation both in human and in mouse.

Riitta Lahesmaa is Work Package 5 leader which is responsible for high-throughput in silico testing of biological samples after exposure to EN.
