Professor of Nanotechnology Maria Strømme at The Ångström Laboratory of Uppsala University, holds a leading competence in the characterization of nanoparticles and nanostructural systems and is focused on the use of nanocomponents in the life sciences. Her team, which includes Assistant Professor Alfonso Garcia-Bennett, a world leader in the field of mesoporous silica nanoparticle development, will be responsible for the development of mesoporous silica nanoparticles, including specific tailoring of the external and internal surfaces of these materials. Strømme and her team will perform detailed characterization of ENs using a panel of physico-chemical techniques (WP2).
